About Craft Collision — Meet Jonathan Diaz

A body shop run by a painter, not by a service desk. The person who sprays your car is the person you talk to about it.

Body shop bay being built out at Craft Collision in Lake Worth Beach

The shop

Built bay by bay

Craft Collision & Restoration is owned and run by Jonathan Diaz, a painter and builder. The shop on Park Street was put together piece by piece — including the paint booth, which was built and finished in house rather than bought as a turnkey install.

That detail matters more than it sounds. A shop that owns and maintains its own booth controls the air, the filtration and the lighting, and those three things decide whether a color match still looks right in daylight two years later. It is also why we do not send paint work out to anybody else.

How the work grew

Collision first, then everything else

Most people find us after an accident. What happened over time is that they kept coming back with bigger ideas.

  • Collision and insurance workThe daily bread of the shop and the reason most customers walk in the first time. Every carrier, every claim.
  • Paint became the specialtyBecause Jonathan is a painter first, paint stopped being the last step of a repair and became the reason people choose us.
  • Custom builds followedColor changes, matte finishes and hand-taped stripes on cars that had nothing wrong with them.
  • Then carbon fiberRepairing composite panels, and eventually making parts from our own molds — something very few shops in the county do.

How we work

You talk to the person doing the job

There is no service writer here translating between you and the shop floor. You bring the car in, the person who is going to work on it looks at it with you, and you get a written estimate with no charge and no obligation.

When a car comes apart and extra damage shows up — which is most jobs — it gets photographed and filed as a supplement with your insurer. It never gets quietly added to your bill.

The whole team works in English and Spanish, so nothing about your repair gets lost in translation. We are open seven days a week, including weekday evenings, because most people cannot drop a car off at 10am on a Tuesday.

Look at a finished car in the sun before you decide. That is the only honest way to judge a paint job, and we would rather you did.
